VPN Connection Tutorial
Connecting to your SPEC workstation from a remote location (another office / your home) requires the following steps:
- Initial Connection setup [video]
- Making the connection through VPN and Remote Desktop [video]
Be patient while videos load. It may take a while if you have a slower internet connection. You can pause the video and follow along if it's too fast.

Q) What is my workstation name?
A) Before you leave the office have a look at the white sticker on the tower under your desk. It will say something like SPECENG__
Q) I have Vista / Mac , how do I do this?
A) For Mac try to enter the same information as in the videos, but follow the seteps outlined here. If that doesn't work for you, let us know.
A) For Vista we'll have to send you the instructions or try to follow the same principles as in the video - should work fine
Q) These instructions work great for me from one location but not from another, what's wrong?
A) Some remote locations may block access to SPEC. Most commonly these are hotel internet connections, internet cafes, other company's office. We have a workaround for that - just give us the details of what's happening.
